Speak to your MPs. This problem is very common and you need to report to the Home Office. However, the don't appear to do much but at least it will be on their record when it comes to their application for an ILR.
Hello! Married to an Algerian overstayer here, worked, and tried to support him and his religion as much as I can, but was not good enough for him and he is leave after receiving his proper Home Office documentation.
Thanks for the advice. We are divorced now so this will not work. However, it looks that he is married to a woman that he was engaged to before our marriage. This will not count of course and I can't prove it. It is unfortunate that the law is not helping us at all. And yes we have no support at all. The home office is doing nothing. Citizen advice could not help. They suggested that I contact an organisation who refused to help as well. They didn't want to help me revoking his visa! I reported him to police for different things and also took him to court for the money that he also took from me. I had no success in anything. And he is still manipulating the system. I am wondering what is the reasoning behind being easy with such fraudsters. They will just keep harming people and taking advantage of the country system. Claiming benefits while working. Not refunding debts.... If they successeded once why not continue and also helping others in doing that. They think that they are clever and it doesn't matter if they hurt others... It is easy and there are no consequences for their acts!
I have replied on another post
I also think you should email the Entry Clearance Officer at the British embassy in Egypt because he will apply to them to bring this new wife to the UK. He has committed Bigamy and this must be put on his Home Office file.
I am not surprised. Only Keith Vaz, Leicester MP, seems to get a grip on this crime. Met his assistant a few years ago and he raised it in Parliament. Write to the Home Office about this new wife in Egypt. Are you divorced as if you havent, he has committed Bigamy. If this is on record he will have little chance of bringing her to the UK. The police and CPS will tell you its out of their jurisdiction if married abroad.
In my case, we were together for less than a year. When I tried to know if I am still considered as his sponsor I was answered that I do not have the right to know. He is still in UK and got a new wife in Egypt... He did pay nothing for the divorce process and many other things that I reported were in vain.
I hear the same stories from victims of this fraud. Been campaigning for the Home Office to put measures in place to stop this fraud since 2013. Did he stay with you more than three years?
In my case we didn't have children. We were married for only few months and he left directly when he got his brp and they did nothing. I reported everything and they did nothing it seems.
Thank you Abir. Unfortunately in theory the Home Office does not take any action. These fraudsters appear to get away with this fraud. The Home Office tend to view it as merely a marriage that has broken down. Having a British born child seems to seal the deal in favour of an immigrant spouse. Luckily with the UK out of the EU, this law will change to British law as hopefully we will not be answerable to the ECHR.

Are you speaking about the 5 years card? In theory this is linked to your marriage, you can send to the home office your divorce papers and a letter saying that your marriage is permanently broken down and you do not sponsor him anymore. The citizen advice should be able to help in this. You may also find it online. However he is entitled to keep his residence permit if you spend together long enough time i. e. 3 years I think.
You need to report him on this link and provide supporting document. https://www.gov.uk/report-immigration-crime For the divorce, you need to see a solicitor or contact the Citizens Advice Bureau. Now that you are on this website, please read for the information and use the knowledge to decide on the way forward. Please note that once he has permanent residency its difficult to get this revoked unless he commits a crime.
